Removal of Volatile Organic Compounds

VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) are a varied group of organic molecules that is produced in different industrial applications such as solvent recovery, tank venting, soil vapor emissions,…

Several of these compounds are odourous or even harmful and require a proper abatement technique so they are not released to the environment.

Depending on the type of VOC (aromatic, chlorinated, degree of saturation, …) the affinity for the activated carbon can vary. Contact IPEC for specific advice on the removal properties of the specific VOC.

For the removal of VOC from municipal waste processing plants, activated carbon systems can be very useful. Ipec has developed a containerized activated carbon system specially for municipal waste processing plants. This installation combines a prefilter for dedusting with an activated carbon system in which the carbon can be cleaned in situ. The system can handle flows up to 70 000 m³/h.
